DOL Extends Annual Participant Fee Disclosure Deadlines

Annual participant fee disclosures (discussed further here) must be provided at least annually.

Recently, the Department of Labor released Field Assistance Bulletin No 2013-02 which gives employers an extension to provide the  disclosures.   Essentially, instead of being due 12 months after the 2012 disclosures, they are now due 18 months afterwards. If a Plan Sponsor does not take advantage of this extension for 2013, they may be able to do so for 2014.  SunGard Relius has written an easy-to-read summary regarding the DOL extension.
