Becomes First Person to Receive Both ASPPA’s Educator’s Award and ASEA’s Edward E. Burrows Distinguished Achievement Award in the Same Year
Phoenix, AZ – November 1, 2022 – Lynn M. Young, EA, FSEA, partner and enrolled actuary at Pinnacle Plan Design was presented with both the 2022 ASPPA Educator’s Award and the 2022 ASEA Edward E. Burrows Distinguished Achievement Award last week at the organizations’ Annual Conference in Washington, DC. Young is the first person to receive both awards in the same year. ASPPA (The American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries) and ASEA (The American Society of Enrolled Actuaries) are sister organizations under the umbrella of the American Retirement Association (ARA), the nation’s premier professional organization for retirement plan service providers and stakeholders consisting of 34,000+ members.
For over 30 years, Young has contributed to the advancement of the industry through volunteerism, leadership, authorship, speaking, and advocacy. She is a past President of ASEA and a current member of the Board of Directors of the ARA. Young, along with her fellow actuaries at Pinnacle Plan Design, are the authors of the Defined Benefit Answer Book, the go-to reference textbook in the industry for technical defined benefit plan matters. In 2021 she was named a Fellow of the Society of Enrolled Actuaries, the highest achievement within ASEA.
