View a Schedule SB Form
The Schedule SB is an informational filing that includes an enrolled actuary’s certification that a defined benefit plan’s funded status complies with the IRS’ regulations. The Schedule SB summarizes the valuation results from the plan year and reports funded percentages as well as minimum contribution requirements and amounts deposited.
Only an enrolled actuary can certify the Schedule SB, which is required annually for every defined benefit plan. If you are a third party administrator (TPA) without an enrolled actuary on staff, do not let this stop you from taking on valuable defined benefit plan work.
Pinnacle Plan Design will gladly perform all of the required actuarial services for your defined benefit plans, including the Schedule SB. At Pinnacle, we like to consider ourselves the Schedule SB experts, as we have five enrolled actuaries on staff with over 120 years of combined experience (Lynn Young, Andrew Forgrave, Kevin J. Donovan, Kevin Strauch, and Charity Westphal). We know exactly how to design and administer plans that ensure that both your client and the IRS are satisfied.
We currently act as the actuarial “back office” for nearly 40 third-party administration firms nationwide and enable them to benefit from bringing valuable defined benefit plans to their clients. Don’t lose your defined contribution clients to the actuary down the street; Pinnacle’s actuarial services can bring you a competitive edge!
