    - Acquisition by stock
    - Acquisition by purchase of assets
    - Company merger

###### [Preparing for an Audit of Your Retirement Plan](http://pinnacle-plan.com/2013/11/preparing-audit-retirement-plan/ "Preparing for an Audit of Your Retirement Plan")

- Generally, federal law requires employee benefit plans with 100 or more participants to have an audit as part of their obligation to file an annual return.
